Seymour, Majorette Instructor Cindi Jess and Danielle Van Ness, Flag Instructors July 31, 1999 Friday, September 10, 1999, is going to be an exciting evening for past and present members of the Oak Harbor High School Marching Band. Former Director John Freytag will be present at the high school football game to direct both bands. During the pregame performance, the Oak Harbor High School Alumni Band will perform a selection with the high school band and a selection on their own. The halftime show will be dedicated to John and Della May Freytag using a patriotic theme. The show will consist of This is My Country, Razzle Dazzle (a patriotic percussion and tuba feature), America the Beautiful (directed by John Freytag), and will close with The Stars and Stripes Forever Trio featuring our fabulous piccolo section. John Freytag was director of bands for Salem-Oak Harbor High School from 1952 to 1967. Accompanying John that night will be Della May, his wife of 56 years. Della May will also be honored that evening for her many years of support and hard work towards making the high school music department the success it is today. The Alumni Band will be performing during the pregame. This alumni band invites everyone who participated in the band during their years at Oak Harbor High School under any director.
